Something of a star pupil, at University College Hospital Medical School David Ivor Maurice Siegler won the Fellowes silver medal in clinical medicine, the senior undergraduate prize for medicine, the FT Roberts prize, the McGrath scholarship, and was then appointed house physician to the professorial medical unit under Professor Lord Rosenheim at University College Hospital. Three years later he was appointed registrar to the same unit.
