A GP has been struck off the UK medical register for an alleged sexual assault of which a jury acquitted him1 after an appeal and five months in prison.

Olakunle Aronwojolu was sentenced to two years in prison in November 2014 after being convicted of sexually assaulting a receptionist in July 2013 at an Essex health centre where he worked as an out of hours GP.

He had led the younger woman to an examining room in the early hours of the morning after she had complained about her “flabby tummy,” ostensibly to teach her a sit-up technique.
