Trump gives orders aimed at lowering prescription drug prices

In the waning days of his tenure, US President Donald Trump has given orders aimed at lowering prescription drug prices.
The announcement came at a press conference on Friday 20 November,1 during which Trump falsely insisted he had won the presidential election.
The key element in the plan is a “Most Favoured Nation” policy. Starting 1 January 2021, the US would pay only what wealthier European nations pay for 50 drugs commonly administered at doctors’ offices and in hospitals. …
