Judge rules that GP suspended for excessive prescribing must be struck off

A GP who was suspended from the UK medical register for 12 months has now been struck off by a High Court judge after a successful appeal by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.1

Mrs Justice Farbey ruled that a medical practitioners tribunal, which decided not to erase David Dighton from the register in October 2019, had reached an “unreasonable” conclusion and that its reasoning was “flawed.”
