Keith Budd

Keith Budd was born to Violet and Hampton in Bournville, Birmingham. He was educated at King’s Norton grammar school before reading medicine at the University of Leeds. After his house years, he worked in casualty with the legendary “Father” Ellis and found time to write and perform in the hospital pantomime. He trained in anaesthetics in Leeds, gaining FFARCS (later FRCA) in 1968. He spent two years as physician in clinical research with Pfizer (1968-70), when he became a founder member of the Pain Society. He returned to Leeds before being appointed as consultant in Bradford in 1972.
