A welcome attempt to introduce objectivity into a polarised debate

Dear Editor

Current debates around the wisdom of lockdown measures have become polarised amongst politicians, professionals and the general public. This is a noble attempt to inject some objectivity. I understand that research on Wellbeing as a concept in the social sciences has been around for some time but the time now seems right to use this methodology to explore the conflicting benefits and problems of the different approaches.

There clearly will be limitations to this technique, but I look forward to seeing the results and I hope that they will help to inform policy making.
