Blatant disregard to proper consent continues in screening programmes

Haskell tells us that the Cumberlege report found that the healthcare system was “disjointed, siloed, unresponsive, and defensive” and that it did “not adequately recognise that patients are its raison d’être.”1 The findings were “generalisable across the healthcare system,” which the review found to be “sluggish and inattentive” and “unresponsive and defensive.”
