Doctors in England and Wales get 2.8% pay rise

Hospital doctors and salaried GPs in England will receive a 2.8% pay rise backdated to April this year, the Department of Health and Social Care has announced.
In Wales the pay rise extends more widely: consultants, specialty and associate specialist doctors, junior doctors, and salaried GPs will all receive a 2.8% increase.
The BMA expressed disappointment that the pay rise in England did not apply to all doctors. Hospital doctors in England will receive a 2.8% pay rise worth £2200-£3000 for consultants, £1100-£2100 for specialty doctors, and £1500-£2600 for associate specialists, …
