A GP who wrote misleading notes to minimise her error in failing to investigate a boy’s signs of deadly Addison’s disease has seen her suspension from the UK medical register cut short after a tribunal heard evidence that patients and colleagues missed her presence during the pandemic.
Joanne Rudling took the second of two calls that 12 year old Ryan Morse’s mother made to her Blaenau Gwent surgery on a Friday in December 2012, reporting high temperature, extreme drowsiness, and involuntary bowel movement. His genitals had turned black, the GP was told.
