HRT: doctors demand talks with government to tackle “chaos” of shortages

Years of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) shortages in the UK have left patients, clinicians, and pharmacists distressed, according to three representative bodies.

In response to the shortages, caused by ongoing manufacturing and supply problems, the British Menopause Society, the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH), and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) have written to the health secretary Matt Hancock, calling for a new working group to tackle the problem.
