The General Medical Council has decided to stop offering private health screening to its staff after an evidence review it commissioned found that there was no benefit.
The GMC asked the BMJ Technology Assessment Group to carry out an evidence review of what it had been offering to staff, and decided not to renew its screening contract after it found “no evidence of additional benefit to the screening on offer beyond that which is already freely available on the NHS.”
