Two thirds of GP trainees have no plan to work full time after qualifying, survey finds

Less than a third of GP trainees plan to work full time in general practice the year after they qualify, a survey carried out by the King’s Fund has found.

The healthcare think tank surveyed 840 GP trainees in England.1 It found that just 27% intended to work full time (seven or more sessions a week) in general practice one year after qualifying, and only 5% thought they might do so 10 years after qualifying.
