Nicholas Rutter (“Nick”) was brought up in East Anglia and attended Trinity College, Cambridge, before completing his studies at St Thomas’. He was a junior doctor at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street, and Nottingham Children’s Hospital. He was known as an outstanding clinician, a brilliant teacher, and an impressive researcher.
