Rapid Response:

No wrapping might be the best solution

As editors of the German Journal of Family Medicine (Zeitschrift fuer Allgemeinmedizin https://www.online-zfa.com/) we read with considerable interest your paper in the BMJ and appreciate your efforts to make the journal environmentally more friendly.

From our point of view, the best alternative might be not to use wrappers at all. Virtually all German medical journals are sent by post without any wrapper. For many, the address is printed on the cover which additionally saves labels. We have never heard any complaints from readers.
