A hospital consultant who was suspended from the UK medical register over sexual and profane comments to colleagues and patients has been struck off after he failed to provide a review hearing with any evidence of remediation, remorse, or insight.
Serban Gheorghiu seemed unaware of professional boundaries, said five nurses from York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and other witnesses who testified at the medical practitioners tribunal that suspended him for nine months in January.1
