Although I sympathize with Dr. Warikoo's plight, I fail to appreciate why his position in the NHS as a consulting psychiatrist should award him any preferential treatment from the Home Office.

Surely there are many others with similar stories, including a garbage collector who also has worked 15 years in keeping the streets of London clean.

Would it be right for the Home Office to distinguish and discriminate between the two mothers, just because one's son is a psychiatrist and the other's is a garbage collector?

At least Dr. Warikoo has the option to migrate to Australia.
