GP practices in England are facing waits for flu vaccine supplies of up to two weeks after the manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur said it had experienced an unexpected delay at its main manufacturing plant in France.
The company supplies around a third of the three million flu vaccines administered in England each year.
The shortage relates to Sanofi’s quadrivalent non-adjuvanted vaccine for at risk-groups aged 16 to 65.
The company said around 40% of the first deliveries of the vaccine would be delayed by one to two weeks.
