NHS opens eight walk-in FGM clinics across England

Adult survivors of female genital mutilation (FGM) will be able to access expert care and support through eight NHS specialist clinics opening on 12 September.1
NHS England said the walk-in clinics—which will be led by specialist doctors, midwives, and nurses—would assist more than 1300 women (aged 18 and over) in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, and London.
Women’s health groups welcomed the clinics, but also highlighted the “major gap” in services for those under 18, and called on the NHS to meet the “desperate need” of these girls and young women.
