The NHS will accelerate its efforts to tackle climate change with a series of coordinated measures to reduce its carbon output, the chief executive of NHS England has said.
The health service should also embolden staff to lead discussions with the public about the wider measures needed to tackle climate change, said Simon Stevens.
The comments came during a panel at the Health and Care Innovation Expo in Manchester, at which participants discussed how the NHS should work with local government and other partners to lead the agenda on climate change.
