Refusing public dialogue is not sign of strength

It surely not a sign of strength that government want to clamp down on public discussion [1], and it is an infringement of free speech, not to mention public safety, if it takes the a priori view that all criticism is unfounded. If the government wants to restore faith it has to address substantive issues [2-16] and not pretend it has all the answers if it does not.
