Interesting article, I wish that the UK government had let the Scottish Government go ahead and establish the rooms, and then conduct rigorous research that would allow the development of a clear evidence base either way.

I do find it hard to comprehend that the World Health Organization (WHO) will advocate for decriminalisation whilst the multiple UN conventions on 'Narcotics' remain in place. With the 1988 Convention, it is unclear if it is mandated to criminalise personal possession. Some countries take the view that it only criminalises narcotics that have been trafficked, others hold a contrary view. In order for wide-scale decriminalisation to take place surely, we need a clearer position from the UN.
