Malcolm Chiswick, previously honorary professor of neonatal medicine at the University of Manchester and medical director of Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust, died on 8th February 2019 of carcinoma of the pancreas. Malcolm was born in 1940, qualifying MB BS from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1965. He trained in general medicine and then paediatrics in Manchester, achieving membership of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 1969 and proceeding to fellow in 1980.
