Consultants have responsibility to community, not just inpatients, says chair of GP partnership review

Hospitals and hospital consultants have a responsibility to the wider community, not just their patients, and should start thinking that way, the chair of the government’s GP partnership review has said.

Nigel Watson, who was speaking on a panel at a King’s Fund event on primary care networks on 17 July, said that the new networks were an opportunity to completely rethink the health service, for example by moving certain services and the resources tied to them into the community.
