MPs vote to liberalise abortion rights in Northern Ireland

MPs in the UK parliament have voted overwhelmingly to liberalise abortion laws in Northern Ireland and bring them into line with those in the rest of the UK.

The move happened after Labour MP Stella Creasy put down an amendment to the Northern Ireland Executive (Formation) Bill, a technical government bill connected to budgets and elections for the devolved Northern Ireland assembly.
