I can only subscribe to the remarks made before me by colleagues William B. Grant and Alain Braillon.

I also really like Ronald Coase's quote: "If you torture the data long enough, they will confess." I am confident that his thinking might be well applied to medical research.

With no intention of diminishing the efforts of the Authors, I am not so sure that this study would have been accepted for publication in its current form by the NEJM for example. May I also add that there is no doubt about the importance of vitamin D, but there is also much more to understand about its roles, ideal levels, clinical relevance and the resulting diagnostic and management strategies.
