Re: Pension tax: Hancock urges doctors not to retire and pledges to “fix” crisis by 2020

Too Little, Too Late!

I have already retired at less than age 60 and fully recommend it to all.

I would like to thank the government for proving to me that I ought to review my work:life balance. Without the threat of pension tax, I would probably have continued working full time until I was 65, but now I have cut my hours by half and do just enough. It's a shame that patient waiting lists will be likely to increase, but having a 4-day weekend is definitely a plus. I would encourage any doctor who can afford it to do the same, especially since they will be paying handsomely from their pensions if they do continue working.
