Push Doctor’s online GP service has improved prescribing safety after previous concerns, says CQC

The digital GP provider Push Doctor has been rated as “good” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in a significant turnaround for the service, which was previously the subject of safety concerns from the regulator.

A CQC report in 20171 said that the service, which offers patients video consultations and online prescriptions, had prescribed high risk medicines without proper checks and tests.2 A follow-up inspection in August 20183 found improvements but said that the service was still not providing safe care overall, citing specific concerns over the prescription of certain antibiotics.
