The BMA will co-host its first conference on gender bias with the Medical Women’s Federation this November, the association’s chair of council, Chaand Nagpaul, has announced.
Speaking at the BMA’s annual representative meeting in Belfast, Nagpaul said he was “deeply saddened” by the recent sexism allegations and affirmed his commitment to making the BMA an inclusive organisation.
All BMA elected members will also undertake equality and diversity training, and all members will be able to access online modules on equality, he said.
