The UK government should legislate to make it easier for doctors from outside Europe to work in the NHS, the chief executive of the GMC has said.
Charlie Massey said that the existing “equivalence” process that requires doctors from outside the European Economic Area to fill in “about 1000 pages of paperwork” to demonstrate that their experience and training meets the standard for the UK was “bonkers.”
