Richard Lacey: microbiologist who came under fire for claiming a link between mad cow disease and variant CJD in humans
The obituary of Richard Lacey (BMJ 2019;365:l1078, doi:10.1136/bmj.l1078, 12 March 2019) incorrectly stated that his autobiography was called Poison on a Plate. This was the title of an earlier book. The autobiography, Germ Wars, was published in February 2019. The online version has been corrected.
