Rapid responses are electronic comments to the editor. They enable our users to debate issues raised in articles published on bmj.com. A rapid response is first posted online. If you need the URL (web address) of an individual response, simply click on the response headline and copy the URL from the browser window. A proportion of responses will, after editing, be published online and in the print journal as letters, which are indexed in PubMed. Rapid responses are not indexed in PubMed and they are not journal articles. The BMJ reserves the right to remove responses which are being wilfully misrepresented as published articles.

To Sesmondo’s exhaustive and well-researched compendium, we must now add Celebrity KOLs. If a Kardashian can reach 140 million “sentient“ beings with an Instagram post, the drug company Duchesnsy is getting a bargain. The retail price for Diclegis, the drug she flogs, costs ~ $500 for 60 pills, but one can get it at a discount here for ~$130 USD.
In the States we have direct to consumer advertising (DTCA) to intrude on the network news and other popular programs. The drugs endorsed are always expensive and generally not available to poor people or those on Medicaid. So now it is nice to know that creative thinkers have figured out a way to get around the wise proscription against DTCA in all other countries and infect our smart phones. I predict that this fine article will be a blueprint for some smart millennial entrepreneurs to enrich themselves or enhance their professional standings on the cyber-stage.
It is certainly a brave new promotional world that we are living on. One just wonders where poor suffering humanity fits him?
