Patients left waiting for cancer treatment as targets missed, BMA analysis shows

An analysis by the BMA1 has revealed a “serious deterioration” in cancer waiting times which delayed treatment for thousands of patients this winter.
In a detailed analysis of official NHS England figures,2 the BMA reported a widespread failure to meet targets across the board.
“In several key respects, this could be described as the worst winter on record for the NHS,” it concluded.
The report raises particular concern about cancer waiting times. Key findings included:
