Police have opened a new criminal investigation into the deaths of hundreds of patients at the War Memorial Hospital in Gosport, Hampshire, where an inquiry found that many people had had their lives shortened by unnecessary administration of opioids.1
The investigation could result in criminal charges against Jane Barton, a local GP who worked part time as a clinical assistant at the hospital for 12 years.
