Clinical trials in Europe: less than a fifth report within 12 months

Universities across Europe are failing to meet EU rules on reporting clinical trial results within 12 months of the trial being registered, a survey shows.1

The results came just two weeks after a similar survey showed that, despite initial teething problems, UK universities were now ahead of other universities in the EU in filing their results.2

The latest analysis came from an alliance of four campaign groups calling for transparency in clinical trials: TranspariMED (UK), BUKO Pharma-Kampagne (Germany), Test Aankoop (Belgium), and Health Action International (Netherlands).
