GPs should consider statins "for all over 75s"
Is that what this paper really showed? Can someone cleverer that me check it?! Looking at the paper I think it says statins might reduce the risk of an event with an NNT of about 100 per year. And it was not all primary prevention. The press release, and thus what the BBC said, was much more positive and calculated reductions in overall mortality too.
Is a fact checker needed?
