Mira Hazel Farquharson held several posts in clinical medicine in Glasgow before starting her training in haematology in Edinburgh in 2004. She made friends easily, and her chatty, easygoing nature, as well as her flaming red hair, meant that she made a memorable impression wherever she worked.
