"The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend" (Robertson Davies). In my own practice and CCG area we have massively improved breast cancer survival whilst overloading our local 2ww clinics. In reality this has most likely been purely due to lead time bias. There is also the added complication of length time bias- the detection of slowly progressing cases. It is not clear in this report if either of these important factors have been addressed in their analysis. I fear the juggernaut of the "cancer industry" might be influencing rational healthcare.
