Protect patients, says NHS Confederation
The NHS Confederation, which represents organisations throughout the healthcare sector, urged the UK government and the European Commission to guarantee patient safety, whatever happens in Brexit negotiations. The confederation’s chief executive, Niall Dickson, said, “That means free movement of medicines, free movement of medical devices and supplies for as long as it takes to resolve these concerns. We have seen that the EU is willing to make arrangements in a number of areas—including finance. We now need to see the same urgency from both sides on health.”
LGBT staff
Six care organisations are in top 100
Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust was the highest ranked organisation in the health and social care sector for LGBT equality (28th) in the Top 100 Employers list for 2019, as judged by the LGBT equality charity Stonewall.1 Tied at 37th were the Golden Jubilee Foundation and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, followed by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (77th), University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (84th), and the NHS Business Services Authority (88th).
