Re: Sixty seconds on . . . reversing type 2 diabetes

Dr Neil Barnard and several others - e.g. The BROAD study in NZ - have already shown this is sustainably done even without portion control or ridiculous calorie restriction (unsustainably) while eating REAL FOOD eating a whole food plant based diet. This is where nutrition guidelines are moving toward anyway. Minimise or remove meat dairy eggs fish chicken and refined oils - ie eat the food we are adapted to eat - and our chronic health conditions disappear and weight optimises. I practice this with my patients here daily. It just works. And is absolutely doable and acceptable, even in our dystopian food environment. And no excessive exercise required.

Please familiarise yourself with this if not already. It's the future of food and medicine, and patients are onto it. It has very good evidence unlike these unsustainable short term diets like low carb high protein, etc., which help only in the short term which cause shorter lifespans it's been shown. There are lots of ways to lose weight, but you have to look at the end game - ie clean arteries and low cancer risk, which this diet / way of eating, has been shown to do.
