GMC appeal refused in case of surgeon who escaped sanction for sexual misconduct

The General Medical Council has lost an appeal against a medical practitioners tribunal’s decision to impose no sanction on a doctor found guilty of sexual misconduct and abuse of trust.1

Three judges at the Court of Session in Edinburgh ruled that the tribunal was entitled to treat Milind Mehta’s case as exceptional because of the steps he took to help others learn from his misconduct.
