I am not surprised at the findings and also not surprised at one of the responses written by a Doctor from ethnic minority (Dr Sundar). Responses like his is another reason why minority Doctors suffer. They have to fall in line and try and please their masters !! I am sure writing a response like this will benefit minority Doctors in bridging the GAP in their salary.

UK medical practice suffers from a ‘2 tier’ syndrome. Overseas doctors however bright and good are treated with indifference and as foreigners despite giving their best years to the NHS and are relegated to lower roles. Leadership roles are rarely given to them despite merit, and abuse of award system is rampant due to old boys network, which leads to GAP in salary.

BMJ has done a great job in bringing this out in the open but I am afraid nothing will change in the NHS as the colonial mentality is still rampant.
