Type 2 diabetes affects 7000 young people in England and Wales, analysis shows

Paediatricians have called for urgent action to tackle childhood obesity after new figures showed that almost 7000 children and young adults in England and Wales are being treated for type 2 diabetes.

Recent figures from the national paediatrics diabetes audit1 showed that 715 people under 25 were receiving care for type 2 diabetes from paediatric diabetes units in England and Wales.
