Black and Asian doctors earn less than their white colleagues, official NHS figures show

New figures showing that black and Asian doctors earn less on average than their white colleagues are evidence of “unacceptable discrimination” in NHS pay levels, the BMA has said.
Data from NHS Digital on mean basic pay show that black female doctors earn £801 (€900; $1042) a month less than their white counterparts, while Asian female doctors earn £344 a month less than white female doctors.1
