Solution must be found for £116m cost of outsourcing scans, says radiologists’ president

The NHS spent £116m (€126m; $150m) on outsourcing patient scans in 2017, a 32% increase on 2016 when outsourcing cost £88m, the Royal College of Radiologists has said.

Nicola Strickland, president of the college, described the situation as unsustainable and called for more funding to retain and recruit “home grown” radiologists.
