GP at Hand opposes NHS England’s plan to cut funding for digital providers

GP at Hand has opposed NHS England’s proposal to cut funding for “digital first” GP service providers that register patients from outside their geographical area, arguing that it would “strongly discourage innovation.”
The comments came in response to an NHS England consultation asking how payments to general practice might need to change to “fairly support” the rollout of digital technology.1 The consultation, which closed on 31 August, suggested that GP providers that registered patients from outside their catchment area could receive less money per patient than practices that offered a more complete service.
