The Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association has called for Charlie Massey to step down as chief executive of the General Medical Council over his handling of the case of the trainee paediatrician Hadiza Bawa-Garba.
Bawa-Garba was found guilty of gross negligence manslaughter in November 2015 for contributing to the death of 6 year old Jack Adcock from septic shock at Leicester Royal Infirmary.1
