Rheumatoid arthritis: goal should be remission or low disease activity, says NICE

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has changed the treatment goal for adult patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) to remission or low disease activity with monthly monitoring until this is achieved.1

The NICE guideline committee said that the new guidance “aims to improve quality of life by ensuring that people with RA have the right treatment to slow the progression of their condition and control their symptoms.”
