Although Julian Tudor Hart abhorred the privatisation of the NHS, his sense of humour would have triumphed over the statement, in his BMJ obituary, that “ In 1961 Julian Tudor Hart bought a run down general practice in Glyncorrwg.”
The NHS began in 1948.
That was the end of buying practices in the UK, unless you wished to buy a rare, private one, in Mayfair perhaps, but not in a Welsh mining valley.
