Disappointingly, "Participants of the Whitehall II Study [of which I am one] were not involved in setting the research question or the outcome measures, nor were they involved in developing plans for recruitment, design or implementation of the study. No participants were asked to advise on interpretation or writing up of results." To contact participants of the Whitehall II Study would not have been difficult, and their input might have been useful.helpful. When will researchers appreciate that people they study can be of use?
