Re: NHS proposes to stop funding 17 “unnecessary” procedures

The NHS should also consider to stop funding other unnecessary or even harmful treatments.

I modestly propose 1] long CBT treatments from Psychiatrists and Psychologists, 2] Long term use of Proton Pump Inhibitors, 3] Antidepressants and Methylphenidate in children and adolescents.

1] Junior MHWs, trained for only 5 days, were able to deliver Behavioural Activation sessions against Depression, with equally effective outcomes, compared to CBT or second generation antidepressant pharmacotherapies, without side effects.
"Effective psychological therapy for depression can be delivered without the need for costly and highly trained professionals" is concluded.
